About Mile High Film Club
Mile High Film Club was built on story, grit, and elevation.
Founded in Rio Rancho, New Mexico and shaped by a creative upbringing in Detroit, the company is led by award-winning filmmaker Johnny Flynn — a director, cinematographer, camera operator, and editor with over 16 years of professional experience across narrative film and television.
Johnny’s career was forged in Detroit’s independent film scene — a place known for hustle, resilience, and making cinema with heart under pressure. That Midwest work ethic still drives every production.
Today, Mile High Film Club operates from New Mexico’s cinematic landscape while maintaining deep creative ties to Detroit and collaborators across the country.
Johnny has served as camera operator on HGTV productions including Good Bones and Condemned, and as camera operator on the feature film A Christmas Movie Christmas. As a cinematographer, he has shot multiple feature films with a strong emphasis on practical lighting and story-driven composition. As an award-winning editor, his work on Beneath Us All and Pulling the Goalie has been recognized for its emotional precision and narrative strength. He has also edited multiple made-for-TV feature films.
What defines Mile High Film Club is collaboration.
We proudly hire and work alongside local New Mexican crew members, Detroit-based creatives, and talented freelancers from across the United States. Every project is built with intention — assembling the right team for the story, not just the budget.
This is not a one-man operation. It’s a collective of experienced artists brought together by discipline, respect for the craft, and a shared commitment to cinematic storytelling.
Rooted in Detroit grit. Elevated by New Mexico skies. Connected nationwide.
